Not Exactly the Hilton

First, I have to start this blog update off with the following quote about why Hollywood isn't exactly running to the press in support of Paris Hilton:

Paris' career was made in a microwave and not in a crock pot

--Howard Bragman, owner of a public relations firm called Fifteen Minutes

Article here.

I have a hard time feeling sorry for Paris. I think she is a spoiled little girl whose parents allowed her to have whatever she wanted all her life. She has never had to face normal consequences.

Kudos to Judge Sauter for making her face up to what she did. Too many young people watch the celebrity culture we live in and think that you can get away with anything as long as you are rich or beautiful. It's a very dangerous assumption, and the Paris Hiltons of the world need to be treated as any other citizen who drives under the influence and then--twice--violates their probation.

Now, can we find a judge who will throw the book at Nicole Richie?
