Today, I am thankful for veterans--the ones who made it home, and especially the ones who gave all. I'm thankful for the ones currently serving, and the ones who served, came home, and passed on after a life of peace.
They have earned the honor we show them today.
Most especially, I am thankful for one veteran in particular, who has taught me how to live with honor and integrity. He taught me to be on time, to keep my word, and to be honest and diplomatic--lessons he imparted on enlisted men in his command for many years.
Happy Veteran's Day, Daddy.
