Where's Millie?!?

Ever since Millie got so sick in December, I've been a little paranoid about her behavior. Fortunately, she has been her normal nine-year-old self since recovering. She is occasionally playful, always affectionate, and mostly pretty lazy. She gets along pretty well with Harley and seems to have a lot to live for.

A few nights ago, I was getting ready to go to bed when I realized I didn't know where Millie was. Normally she'll be in the Sweet Spot, or sitting on the warm hard drive of my computer. Sometimes she's tucked into a blanket on my bed. But this particular night, she was nowhere to be found.

I checked on top of the kitchen cabinets and in the closet. No Millie. Even though I hadn't been in the coat closet at all that evening, I checked in there. I peered under the bed. No sign of her.

I knew there was no way she'd gotten out of my apartment. So where was she?

I got down on my hands and knees in the living room to look under a table when I heard her chirp nearby.

And there she was, curled up in the Kitty Kondo--a purchase I made when I got Harley. Neither cat has ever shown any interest in the little house, so I just throw the cat toys in there whenever I clean. Pretty soon, Harley digs most of them out and we wash, rinse, repeat.

She looked so cute in there, as though she was hiding from the harrassment of her little brother. I patted her head and she purred, and a few minutes later she followed me to bed...as is normal.
