So, this week started off with an easy Monday--a trip to the gym, Dad's Veteran's Day ceremony, then a lazy afternoon and an evening of choir. After that, I hit the ground running.
Such is my life.
My weeks fly by these days, filled with teaching, paperwork, private lessons, meetings. I'm at the gym three mornings a week, and I shower there to avoid having to drive all the way back to Lincoln. Between piano lessons I read, or work on things that need working on. When I'm at school I'm kept busy with the various paperwork and emailing that needs to be addressed, or I'm at my piano, practicing choral parts or recording them to send to my students via email.
A year ago, I worked one day a week, taught a small handful of private students. I had a lot of extra time to sit around, waiting, wondering, wishing. I don't have that time anymore, and I can't tell you how good it is for me to be busy, because when I'm busy, I thrive.
So today, I'm thankful for all the things I do that keep me running around. Sometimes I wish I could be home before 7:15 in the evenings, but I know that it won't be long before I grow the GB job and can be there full time. I'll still be busy, just with less driving.
But for now, it's good to have a purpose, and all this busyness does have purpose. And I get to do something I love.
