Last night, Sac Choral had its annual fundraising party. For $35, I supported an organization I sing for (and it is a tax write-off!), got some wine and appetizers, and free admission to the California Auto Museum in Sacramento.
It was a fun evening. I like my fellow singers, and it was fun to dress up, sip wine, and toddle around the museum in heels. Don announced next season--our 18th as an organization, my third singing in it. We will sing a lot of great pieces, including another Ralph Vaughn Williams piece (hooray!), Mendelssohn's
Lobegesang, and Orff's
Carmina Burana. I haven't sung these pieces--they're major choral repertoire--and I am super-excited. Don, when I told him I haven't sung them before, said, "You're in for quite a ride!" I responded with a big grin, "Bring it on!" The music will be difficult, but also exciting, gorgeous, and so exhilarating.
I took some Instagram pictures, and found some pics of me taken by Ronnie Johnson, our official photographer.

I don't know a lot about cars, but they are fun to look at. |

This was actually used on CHiPs! Aaron and I watched that show so much as kids. |

Doug, one of our board members (in the car shirt to my right), won the quilt auction. He and his wife decided Don should have the quilt. Here, he's called us all over so he could offer it to Don and Jim. |

Don hugging Doug, me clapping. |

Don, showing us the label Carol's friends sewed to the back of the quilt in her memory (they finished the quilting for her, as she passed before it was done). |

Hugs all around! This organization is a family. |
