It's A Sign: Rough and Ready

I always though that England had the monopoly on great names for their towns and cities. How can you beat Sandy Balls in Hampshire, or Lickey End, Worcestershire? (Source: This hilarious list.)

Then I found out about Rough and Ready, California. Situated in that large foothill area that I call Gold Country, it's not a very big place, but it has a post office, and as far as I'm concerned, it has the best name in all of California.

A couple of years ago, on one of our many day trips into Gold Country, Dad turned off the main highway just so I could get some sign pictures. Bless him!

I could see myself getting married here. Just for the name.
