California Dreamin': Lake Tahoe

Mom, Dad and I drove up to Lake Tahoe today, and ended up driving around almost the entire lake. It was a marvelous, sunny day and there were tons of people out and about (it's Labor Day).

It was a gorgeous day for a drive. We stopped in South Lake Tahoe for a late lunch, and then hit Interstate 80 back towards home--it was a crowded mess of traffic. We saw a ton of people coming home from Burning Man, with bikes and hula hoops strapped to their very dusty cars.

I'm tired and I don't feel like making this post "educational" with links and maps, so I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves this time.

Approaching Truckee, where we veered off of I-80 towards Lake Tahoe:

Tahoe City signs:

We stopped at a little vista point and got some gorgeous shots.

Shots from a moving car:
Look at the different shades of blue in the water. It's even prettier in person.

A couple of lucky shots of Emerald Bay. Lucky because 1) the car was moving and 2) my battery was dying.
