Lisa of Hubble Space Paws asked if she could mention what I'm doing on her wonderful blog, and I gave her the okay. If you come here from her blog, I just wanted to introduce myself and tell you what it is I'm up to.
My name is Megan (or Meg, I answer to both). I'm a 30-something, recently laid-off music teacher living in the central valley of California. This blog serves many purposes--I talk about a lot of stuff, and I've been blogging for almost six years! So over the next two weeks, you'll see a lot of posts about the Peanuts Gang, a litter of four itty bitty kitties I'm fostering as a favor to the shelter I volunteer for. It's a two-week stint, and then the babies will go to their more permanent foster situation (who is currently on vacation, hence the need for me to step in).
This is the first time I've ever fostered cats. It will probably be the last time for a long while, too, as I really don't have a ton of extra space or money for this. I have two permanent residents, my beloved Millennium Joy and Harley Dude. My limit, emotionally and financially, is two cats, but I'm happy to help out with the Peanuts Gang and ensure that they have a safe place to stay while they need it. They're already providing a lot of giggles as I watch them toddle around my bathroom and learn to become cats.
I hope you'll visit to see my pictures of the babies, and I love getting comments. It takes a village to raise a litter, so if you have any practical advice, please, pass it on! Fortunately, I have a ton of support from one of my fellow volunteers. She's an encyclopedia of cat and kitten knowledge, and she's a phone call away at all times.
If you want to stick around and read my other ramblings (about running, weight loss, the world in general, music, and my various adventures), please do. In the meantime, enjoy the babies--and I promise there will be more pictures, more stories and more kitten fun over the next two weeks!
Cheers,
Meg of the Little Pink Blog

Hi Meg, I just put up the post up! Hope your holiday is going well and the babies aren't too scared by fireworks.
A ton of people have illegal fireworks this year (more than ususal) and it's scaring me to death 'cause it's been so dry. The fire engines have been going since around 7pm. (There's a station 3 blocks from me.)
