I'm watching/listening to a VH1 special about the best songs out of the 1990s, and, of course, they have to swoon over Oasis' "Wonderwall."
Am I the only person who wants to gauge out her eardrums with an ice pick when I hear that WHINY-ASS Ghallagher nasal twang whining "Annnnd maybeeeeee you'regonnabetheone to saaave meeeee..."?
OVERRATED.
I read an interview Liam did recently, in which he disses on pretty much every band under the sun except the Beatles and the Stones...probably because he knows he'd probably be castrated by fed-up music fans the world over if he did. According to this woman-hating loser, no other band, except for his own--which is now defunct because he and his brother can't swallow their childish pride long enough to get over themselves and have a relationship--has any merit or staying power.
I beg to differ, Liam, hon. I can't stand your music.
(Gee, Meg, tell us how you really feel.)
If I've offended any diehard Oasis fans in posting this rant, well, so be it. I just can't stand the massive ego that dismisses all other music and thinks his poop doesn't stink. Makes it impossible to enjoy his music. Give me Keane any day!

Meg, Meg, Meg.
I said maybe, have you ever as a teenager made out to this song?
Me neither, but I always thought it would be perfect to cover up my beating heart.
So I am fond of it.
Oasis- I completely agree with you. I have major beef with. I went to V Festival and they never showed- they were supposed to be headlining, but they had fallen out (it was the beginning of the end I fear), and for the fans that were there to see them, they couldn't get over themselves and go on stage and perform.
However, on a lighter note, it did give me the perfect chance to see Keane who were playing at the same time on a different stage and they were simply brilliant- a total highlight of the weekend for me!
Sa--I just can't bring myself to like them. : (
Spotless--A friend of mine who was at V last year did the same thing--watched Keane after Oasis backed out, and was also impressed. Keane isn't a darling of the music magazines and they don't have a huge following, but they make some awesome music and they are very, very good live!
They do have a few songs I like, but I can't stand it when people claim how they're so much greater than xyz. It's one thing to be confident and know you are awesome, but it is quite another to trash particular individuals. The latter smacks of too much ego and not enough talent.
Oh and I love that show. My favorite music is still from the 90s (I'm a grunge girl and a sucker for 90s R&B).
