Bloody Hell!

Gah.

A few weeks ago, I bought a two-disc DVD documentary of my favorite band, Keane. I ordered it on eBay, even though I was a little bit worried that the seller hadn't once answered my question about the item.

When the set arrived, I happily sat down and watched the first disc--it is hugely entertaining and I couldn't wait to watch the 2nd.

Trouble is, the 2nd disc wouldn't play.

ARGH!

So the next day, I went to Barnes and Noble and special-ordered the set again. I figured I'd be guaranteed to have a good copy, right?

WRONG. It arrived today, and once again, the 2nd disc won't work! I haven't tested the first disc, and I at least get to the menu on the 2nd (my eBay disc wouldn't even do that) but once I select "documentary," I get a black screen and nothing else.

Maddening.

It might be my very old machine--but that doesn't explain how the other one worked, right? I've never had a problem before. I cleared some dust out but that doesn't seem to do any good. I'm going to take the disc to Mom and Dad's this weekend and see if I can get it to work there. If not, it's going back to Barnes and Noble with the request that I get a new one.

I am ever the optimist. Someday, the stupid 2nd disc has to work, right?
