My Week in Pictures

As you may have gathered, it was quite a week. Oh, hell, all of my weeks are in "quite a week" territory. My life is one big adventure, Wild and Absolutely True.

Graffiti

This is just a tiny taste of the "graffiti gallery" we came to school to on Monday morning. It was ugly. Sorry for the bad words--my favorite (that's sarcasm) is the big F-word overlooking the 1st/2nd grade playground. Classy!

Pretzel

Oh, lonely little pretzel, left on my classroom floor by an inattentive student (who had the rest of the bag taken away and thrown away by an irate Ms. C. because, GAH! There is no eating allowed in my classroom unless I personally give you the food.

But what makes this pretzel particularly picture-worthy is that it sat on my floor for a full week. The kid who cleans my room each night NEVER NOTICED it, and didn't sweep it away, proving what I had suspected for a long time: He doesn't actually sweep my room at nights, just waves the broom around a few times, neglects to mop, and listens to his iPod.

I have little kids sitting on that floor every morning!

Cinco de Mayo

My kids LOVED making Ojo de Dios. So much that we did it for two days, and no one complained. They wanted to take yarn and popsicle sticks with them to make more at home!

My Cinco de Mayo lesson is relevant to them, so that makes it fun and interesting for them. I'm glad. Makes my job a hell of a lot easier.

Fashion Smash

Green is becoming my signature color. It's bright, it's happy, and I look good in it! I am drawn to it in stores, and I own quite a few pieces in bright, happy green. I wore some on Monday, adding, because 1) it was cold, and 2) I was feeling some Scottish pride, my Cooper plaid scarf. Not that we were actually a clan--just a lowly, barrel-making family. But there is money to be made, so we have a plaid. A pretty one, at that.

Please also note that those jeans are size 14, for my under-200-pounds body. : )

New Outfit

Trying on clothes has become less trying with all this weight loss, and I'm happy to report that I'm fitting into things in the Misses department, rather than Women's (go me!). Today I treated myself to a darling new outfit. Very nautical. All I need are some wedge sandals to go with it, and some white jewelry, and I'm set.

(Also, in the picture, please excuse my unwashed hair and lack of makeup. It's Sunday.)

Cat Acne

Did you know cats can get acne? Mille has had little pimples on her chin from time to time in the past, but this week, she had a horrid breakout. Sometimes its as simple as not washing the food dishes out often enough--and the vet told me that it's good that I use porcelein dishes.

Anyway, it's harmless enough, so I put some Neosporin on it (she can't lick it off under her chin) and it's getting better. It's not quite so red and nasty-looking now.

And with that lovely picture, I will sign off. :)

Thanks! I thought the scarf and green worked well together. Plus, it kept me a bit warmer throughout the day.
