Woodland Scottish Games, Part 2: Animals, Animals, Animals

My favorite part of the Woodland Scottish Games is the Animal area. People bring their animals, and it's marvelous. I spent quite a bit of time in this area, talking to the people, petting dogs and cooing at puppies. Yes, puppies. Sheltie puppies.

Keep scrolling.

I'll start with the dogs. There were Shelties, Border Collies, Cairn Terriers, Gordon Setters, Scotties, and Scottish Deerhounds. All were adored, well-cared for (some people had fans, all dogs had comfy beds and plenty of food and water.

Okay, fine, I'll start with the PUPPIES. They were nine weeks old.

Somehow, alas, I didn't get any Scottie pictures.

There were some goats, including a baby goat. A little while later, some kids were trying to walk the goats but baby decided it was feeding time.

There were two draft horses on duty.

And it wouldn't be the Scottish games without a pony (not a Shetland) and a couple of heelahncoo (Highland Cow, as said by someone with a brogue).

Finally, there were some birds on display--falcons, hawks, and one beautiful eagle.

Next up: Men in Kilts!
