In honor of the fact that I have ONE MORE DAY of school before a much-needed, much-anticipated break...
"One Day More" from Les Miserables:
For the record, I was sooo excited to see Les Mis, but by the time I got to it, Miss Saigon and Rent had far surpased it in my affections. And dang...I haven't listened to this stuff in a long time! I'd forgotten how much I like "On My Own." (I was first exposed to it in my high school voice lesson days.)
Anyway, one day more! Hallelujah!
Tomorrow, of course, will be crazy. Aside from being the last day of school before Santa and stockings and all that Christmas madness, it is also Pajama Day. I shall be wearing some flannel plaid pants and a black top. I initially planned on wearing my new fleecy Snoopy pajamas, but those are in the dirty clothes hamper and...I'm just too lazy to do laundry tonight. I've got a gazillion other things to do, anyway, like some baking, packing, wrapping, and vaccuuming.
From the Feline News Desk comes a few encouraging signs. Millie vomited sometime after I left for work (found it in the closet tonight), but since I've been home, has nibbled on her food a few times, and taken some water. I have to give her the evening meds soon, and I am not looking forward to that. Sometimes I wonder if the stress of being forced to swallow two obnoxious-smelling liquids isn't making her want to ralph.
It's important, though, that she take them, so soon I'll gear up to do that.
Harley has been accosting her at every turn tonight, and she's been growling and hissing and swatting him. I think he needs a bit of attention, and that's one more reason I'm glad to have the next two weeks off--not being at work all day, I'll have more time to play with him and cuddle with him. Plus, even if I do go out, Mom and Dad will be around to watch him.
So far I don't have too many grand plans for the break. On Sunday, Mom and I will be baking cookies with a family friend, Lucy, and her daughter Morgan. It's a yearly tradition, but I haven't been able to be part of it in the past due to carol gigs.
On Monday, we'll go to A Chance For Bliss to groom the horses, ponies, goats and donkey. I'm looking forward to seeing my hooved buddies there, and doling out some carrots and apples. Those kids go nuts over the carrots and apples! After that, Mom and I are planning to see Twilight. It will be my third viewing and Mom's first.
I also want to get a girl's night in there somewhere with Katie, Leslie and Lisa, and a scrapbooking day with Summer.
Other than that, I plan on relaxing, reading a lot of books, cuddling with Millie, Harley, Bella and Duchess, and sleeping in every day. It will just be Mom, Dad and I for Christmas...but we're looking forward to a quiet day.
And now...I have stuff to do!
