My Week in Pictures

Monday: Millie Comes Home

On Monday night, I brought Millie home from the hospital, complete with a red bandage where the IV had been, and a shaved spot on her neck.

Tuesday: Muchos Meds

On Tuesday, we started the medicine routine. The white one smells foul and looks like milk; Millie has to have 1 CC of that in the morning, and another 1 CC at night. She gets 3 CCs of the yellow at night.

Wednesday: Awwww

Harley is the original twerpy little brother...but on Wednesday, he was very sweet to Millie.

Thursday: Mmmm, Baking

Thursday night, I baked 10 mini loaves of bread for some colleagues. I got the little loaf pans at Michael's for $1 each. My colleagues appreciated the gesture, and I had a warm, nice-smelling apartment (and dishes to wash).

I also took pictures of my holiday decorations, because last time I posted pics, I'd missed some things, and my Cabbage Patch Kids were waiting on their outfits (purchased on eBay).

I took a picture of the inside of a Little Golden Book that was obviously Aarons, and then, years later, mine:

Finally, I got some close-ups of some wonderful Snoopy bells. The 1978 one I found at an antique store; the rest, on eBay.

Friday: Pajama Day

Today was Pajama Day, so most of the staff and students wore pajamas. I wore plaid flannel bottoms and a black top, and put my hair in pigtails. I also wore my fuzzy socks with candy canes on them.

It was a fun day...a little bit crazy, of course, but fun. I had two first grade classes in my room at one point. I had just gotten them quieted down (the excitement level was sky-high) when I saw something out of the corner of my eye.

My boss was walking up the ramp to my classroom...followed by Santa Claus. Of course, every little head swiveled around when the door opened, and the quiet I had achieved went flying right out of the room. Santa gave everyone candy canes, and my boss apologized for the interruption. I didn't mind, though--the kids were so darned cute. I let them eat their candy canes while we watched The Nutcracker Ballet, and they were far better than my middle school kids are about putting the wrappers in the garbage can.

It's been a hell of a week. And it is finally DONE! I am going to the staff Christmas party in a couple of hours. We're having a private buffet at BJ's Bar and Grill. A lot of people seem to be going, so it should be fun. Tomorrow I'm off to Mom and Dad's, with two cats and all of their accessories (litter pan for Harley, Millie's meds, Millie's special food, Harley's kitten food, toys and his donut bed and fleece blanket...) in tow. There might even be some room in the car for my clothes and books.

Millie isn't eating much, but she's still showing some improvement. I did a "vomit check" when I got home from work and haven't found anything yet...so that's heartening. And last night, she affectionately nibbled on my fingers, which she hadn't done since she's been sick. I've seen her drinking water, so I'm happy about that. I think she needs a few more days, but Mama is impatient and want's her girl to feel better now!

I guess I'd better get my hair out of these pigtails and see if there is anything else I can do with it now that it's been this way all day. I've got a cute outfit planned--no, I'm not wearing my jammies to BJ's! I also need to set some clothes aside for my trip home. As soon as possible tomorrow, I want to be on the road to Mom and Dad's.

Let the relaxation begin!

Ah, good old Clavamox... It's a heck of a lot better than nasty pink liquid amoxicillin when it goes flyin' via headshaking or is spit back up again.

Love all the pics, especially the ones with you in pigtails. SRSLY. You look adorable!

Have a grand time relaxing at your folks' house. :)

I will! I am so looking forward to chilling out for a few days. My parents are cool people, and I enjoy their company. They, of course, are looking forward to meeting the newest grandcat, and to helping the long-time beloved grandcat, Millie, continue to get better.
