Ahhh, Chico.
I spent five years living there, attending California State University, Chico and enjoying life in that unique little town in the middle of nowhere. Chico has its own special flavor, and revisiting last night reminded me that for all the new shops and for all the toddlers they've let into college...the more things change, the more they stay the same.
Summer and I met up at about 3:00, and headed to downtown Chico to have dinner at Tres Hombres, a good wander, then frozen yogurt at Jon & Bon's with our friend Amanda.
As ever, it was great to catch up with Summer, and it was lovely to revisit Chico.

This was not around when I as an undergrad. |

Neither was this. |

However, Bird in Hand was, though it didn't have stuff with Summer's name on it. |

Twelve years out from graduation. |

Summer graduated in 2002, and I graduated in 2001. |

We took this pic to echo one I have from my freshman year (below). |

So young, so naive...so blonde. |

Me, Summer, Amanda...at the awesome Jon & Bon's, a Chico institution. |
Of course, I took Instagram pics, as well...

My new boots are pretty fab, as are the marks my skinny jeans left on my legs. |

I had a margarita with dinner. |

Broadway and Main are the major streets in downtown. |

Chico has some lovely older buildings. |

It was a great trip--a bit whirlwind, but a lot of fun. I drove back to Lincoln this morning to meet Mom, Dad, and their friends Vern and Claire for a Mother's Day brunch at the clubhouse. This afternoon has been pure laziness.
