This morning, I set off for my Sunday Morning Run, apprehensive after three days off. I ran a little on Wednesday, after the long drive, but that was some simple sprints on a treadmill. Taking a few days off often leaves me feeling creaky.
It was slow-going at first. My body protested a little before settling into a rhythm. By the first half mile, however, I was moving along. At about one mile, I started bargaining in my head. "Make it to two miles," I thought. "Just two, you can do that." I made it to two miles and realized, "Hey, I've got more."
I ended up running 3.11 miles, a 5K. I didn't time myself--time doesn't matter today, only that I got out there and pushed the distance a little.
That sub-30 5K is coming, I can just feel it.
