Lately, my blogging mojo has been a bit off. Oh, sure, I'm doing well with posting my week in Instagram posts, and I've posted pretty regular updates, but honestly, I feel like my life hasn't really been exciting enough to blog about.
That's not to say I'm unhappy or unsatisfied; I'm quite content with how things are progressing at the moment, actually. I'm just working five-and-a-half days a week, pretty much, with the oddest schedule. I enjoy the work, but it has taken some adjustment for me to figure out when to get things done. Add my regular workouts to the mix, and I stay quite busy. It's just that it's not all that blog-worthy. Unless the five people still reading this (Hi, Mom!) with any regularity want yet another post about needing new running shoes.
I'm finally starting to bring in more income, teaching private lessons at this great little place called Fusion Elite. When the regular piano/voice teacher left to have a baby, I stepped in (a few weeks ago) and inherited a ton of new students, as well as one location in which to teach them. In my down time, as I build up my clientele, I read "Movement" on my Kindle and text questions to my ever-patient friend. Somehow, everything on my weekly goal list gets accomplished, including lesson planning for Petite School, other business as necessary (keeping the car running, cleaning the bathroom, making sure I have "breakfast packs" ready for the week so prepping my eggs is fast and easy, stuff like that) and getting those good runs and gym sessions in.
My social life is a bit more limited than I'd like, simply because weeknights are hard for everyone and Friday nights are impossible for me. I'm now in full-steam-ahead mode directing the spring musical at Petite School, and those two-hour rehearsals after school on Friday, after a full morning of singing, moving, playing recorders and being high-energy with my younger classes leave me exhausted. Tack on the 45-minute drive home through Roseville Rush Hour and by the time I get home, all I want is a hot shower, a good dinner, and pajamas.
So yeah, I'm not all that entertaining these days. I'm mostly just busy, and falling into bed each night ready to sleep. I'm focusing a lot on particular goals and getting the mundane stuff taken care of. There are entertaining things on the horizon, though, so don't count me out just yet. ; )
