Home For the Holidays (Part Deux)

As promised, here are some pictures taken by the wonderful Ronald Johnson, our choral group's official photographer. After our October concert, I told him I sometimes share his pictures on my blog, giving him full credit, of course. He was delighted, so I am happy to share these ones today. We're a good-lookin' group! And the atmosphere on Saturday was so festive and fun.

The afternoon sound check/rehearsal. There's Yours Truly, no make-up,
hair in a bun, staring at her music (oops).

We stood on the balcony level in a large horseshoe, surrounding the
audience, with glow sticks. Gorgeous, no?

Then we processed while the orchestra played "A Christmas Fantasy."

Takes a while for all of us to load--there's 160 people!

All loaded in and ready to go.

Our fearless leader, Don. Choral directors make lots of funny faces, but
it gets the job done!

Sacramento Children's Chorus, celebrating 20 years.

Santa took over for Don during "Sleigh Ride."

His conducting needs some work (hope this statement doesn't put me
on the naughty list!).
Red lippy, red scarf...fabulous!

We did hand motions during one song, "Betelehemu," and in about every
pic, I think I look like I'm 1/2 a beat ahead of or behind the rest of the group.

I look AWAKE! in this one.

This one cracks me up--my face is pure "singer, emoting." That's what
Don asked for, and trust, it looks great from the balcony.

What an impressive group, eh?

Festive!

Maybe I was just doing the motions bigger than everyone around me?

We all just look confused here...and we were all kinda glad when "Betelehemu"
was finished so we could get those folders back in our hands.

I keep saying it, but it was truly a great evening. Tonight is our end-of-semester potluck, so I'll be eating, drinking (non-alcoholic beverages, I have to drive!) and making merry with my fellow Singing Fools. We've got a few weeks off, and will come back together in January.
