Right, so I want to share some of my sign pictures--as mentioned a couple of posts ago. I've got over 1,000 sign pictures (and more being taken all the time...in fact, I took one yesterday but haven't uploaded it to the computer yet) to share and the whole keeping-a-second-blog thing hasn't really been working out for me. So I'll share them here. Hope you enjoy them.
To start, I'll share some of my original sign pictures. It all started, see, when I was in London in 1999. I noticed the pub signs and the famous "Mind the Gap" signs and I just loved them. I didn't take many pictures--mostly just the very best ones. Even when I was teaching in England, I didn't take as many sign pictures as I might now. If I went to England tomorrow, I can safely say I'd probably take at least 100 sign pictures. The pub signs are awesome.
Anyway, it started with the Eagle and Child in Oxford. Our tour guide told us that pub signs often had pictures so that the illiterate could find the place. And as I made my away around England and Scotland, I found other pictures that I had to take pictures of. All of the ones below are from London Semester 1999, and they all had to be scanned, since obviously, digital cameras weren't a thing back then.

This was in Bath, surprisingly. |

I don't remember which town this was in... |

Edinburgh--and yes, I went inside |

This was the first thing I saw when I got off the train at Glasgow's main
stationin my first-ever visit to Scotland. I thought it must be a sign. |
