This four-part scrapbook extravaganza was before I was investing in fancy scrapbook pages with sheet protectors, and in the years since it was completed, my style has completely changed, and I've seen the light--protectors really are better for your pictures.
That, and hauling FOUR scrapbooks around when I can try to condense it all to one or two books is just ludicrous.
Here's the problem: I used Elmer's school glue on this book. These days, I use glue sticks, but back then, I used the white, goopy glue popular with elementary school teachers everywhere. It lasts.
Last night, armed with my DVD of the extended cut of Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring and a spatula from my kitchen, I began the lengthy process of demolishing one set of scrapbooks, in the hopes of creating a newer, better London Semester book.
Also? Since I made the originals, there has been a surge in the popularity of scrapbooking--the stickers, papers and die-cuts available of British flags, tea stuff, and London images are astounding. I've been collecting for well over a year now, and I've got a lot of stuff ready to be used.
My acceptance letter (and a cup of tea on standby!) |
A kitchen spatula--handy for carefully scraping postcards off of the inner covers. |
Sooo many stickers--and my student ID from London Semester |
Books 2, 3 and 4--note that they're not in the best shape. |
