When Keane does a cover, damn, they do it well! Here's a little-known cover I found on YouTube of Depeche Mode's "Enjoy the Silence." Judging by Tom's hair, this is early in their career.
But my feature video today is Keane's cover of Queen's "Under Pressure." I love, love, love this song in its original form, but I think Keane does a pretty impressive job. Tom channels Freddy Mercury quite nicely--though the super-high note at the end of the big, long "why" is not perfect. I think someone misjudged how much air he'd need for that one!
There is some random guy playing guitar with them, and Jesse Quin is on bass--in the last couple of years, he's recorded and toured with them, and is considered by most fans to be the unofficial fourth member of the band. He's just as goofy and awesome as Tim, Tom and Richard.
The best part, however, is the hilarious little interview before the song. This is why I love these guys.
