I'm not a fashionista. I'm a jeans-and-tee kind of girl. I own four pairs of tennis shoes (running, former-running-now-weight-lifting, every day, grungy take-out-the-trash shoes). I love ballet flats and loafers for work, because I'm on my feet a lot.
Though I tend to wear pants 95% of the time (though I have some new skirts that are crying out to be worn), I've always been a shoe lover, and when I saw these Steve Madden shoes at Famous Footwear last week, I did a double-take, gasped audibly, and drooled a little. Then I grabbed a box in my size and ran to the nearest bench. It didn't take long to realize that I had to buy them. Fortunately, they were on sale.
Now, I just need a place to wear them. I'm working on that. ; )
And I promise, I will NOT wear them with my workout clothes, as I am in this picture.
The awesome part is that I can actually walk in them. When I gained weight, I lost a lot of my ability to balance on heeled shoes. This doesn't happen to everyone, but I just found it harder to walk in heels because of balance and discomfort. Now that I weigh sixty pounds less, I have no problem strutting around in these, or my new favorite wedge sandals. Which I wore to walk a couple blocks to Subway this evening to get a sandwich, with no problems.
I spent a considerable amount of time this weekend at the computer, and I found two more pairs that I'm absolutely in love with. I won't buy them, though. It's enough to have one awesome pair for now.
Normally I shy away from the fringe, but for some reason, I find it adorable on that particular shoe. Steve Madden is brilliant.

J'adore! They look a lot like a pair I own :)
I love that purple pair! And good for you. Nothing can make a girl feel good better then a new pair of shoes.
