California gets a bad rap.
Yeah, yeah, the economy is in the toilet, it's expensive to live here, and we gave the world Hollyweird, the Governator, and "The Hills" (for this, I am deeply sorry). Our education system is floundering, our population is overflowing, and the housing market went KA-BOOM and hasn't quite recovered. General consensus in other parts of the country is that California is full of more fruits and nuts than a granola bar; in England, they think we surf to school. It never rains in California (ha!) and I've actually had someone say to me--no kidding--that she is scared to come to California because of earthquakes. I pointed out that she's more likely to die in a tornado where she comes from than I am to die in an earthquake, but California still scares her.
Allrighty then.
I choose to live here. I choose this mixed-up, crazy, loony state with its California Drivers...why?
I could go on for hours. I've decided, instead, to go on in small installments, called California Dreamin'. I want to show my faithful readers just what it is I love about California. I'll start, tonight, with one of California's best treasures: Yosemite National Park. Stay tuned.

You would not believe how many comments I got about earthquakes when I moved here. Um, I never felt an earthquake, but I have had to take cover here from tornadoes! I miss the mountains and beach!
