A Very Good Birthday

Thanks for all of the birthday wishes, here at the LPB and on Facebook. Every time I logged in today (once at 6:30 this morning and then again at 2:30 in the afternoon), I was inundated with birthday wishes.

I had a lovely day--well, mostly it was a routine day. The kids were good, and one class even sang "Happy Birthday" to me. It seemed important to them to serenade me.

A kid in my first period class (this is at my new school site) told one of the yard supervisors, who used to work at my OTHER school site, that he likes my class, and that I'm a nice teacher. As he's quiet and somewhat reluctant to participate in class, I was flattered. I'll make a singer of him yet!

I took a cake in for my middle school colleagues, and it was enjoyed by all. I'm glad I took my piece early; nary a crumb was left by the end of the day!

The only big difference between 30 and 31 was when I got on the elliptical at the gym tonight. It asks for age, and even yesterday, though I was mere hours from moving up one number, I still punched in 3-0. Today, it was 31. Wouldn't want to lie to the exercise equipment, right?

So yes, it was a lovely birthday, and I'm very much looking forward to celebrating with Summer and Dani on Saturday!
