Sunday Evening Bliss

What a lovely day! Let me count the ways...

1. America's Next Top Model Marathon on Oxygen

One of my guilty little pleasures in life. Today they're showing Cycle 4. Cycle 12 started last week, and it looks like a ton of over-the-top, Tyra-style-train-wreck good times this time around.

2. Yummy New Recipe

Great news! B. has told me I can have black beans in a meal in place of whole wheat pasta or rice. So tonight I coooked up some baked chicken breast in the oven, then tossed with a concoction I cooked on the stove: black beans, corn, spinach and tomato, with garlic powder, chili powder and ground cumin. I forgot to add the peppers I bought yesterday. :( Nonetheless, it was actually quite good, especially with a little bit of parmesan on top.

3. One Week

Oh, yes. I have one week, and then I have two glorious weeks off for Spring Break. So far I have grand plans with Summer for a scrapbook day and a night out in Sacramento for Second Saturday. I will also be working with B. the Sadistic Trainer, and, of course, visiting Mom and Dad.

We had thought we'd try for a beach trip but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. :(

Oh--and I only have to see my crazy 6th period twice this week. :)

4. As Ever, the Kittehs

I noticed today that my baby dude is getting BIG. He's growing so fast, but he still has a squeaky meow, which I love. This morning, I woke up to Millie on my chest and Harley purring like crazy at my shoulder. Good morning, indeed.

5. Clean Laundry

There is nothing better than knowing that all of my work clothes, work-out clothes and pajamas are clean--not to mention socks and underwear. I have my pick of things to wear tomorrow, aside from the stuff that's hanging on the drying rack.

6. Sunny Weather

Today was a beautiful day...not that I went out in it at all, but I opened my windows for fresh air, and kept the blinds open to soak up the sun. It's almost 7:30 and it's just now getting dark.

I love the transition seasons. When summer finally ends in these parts, I'm always so excited for a cool fall and the shorter days that lead up to my favorite holiday: Christmas. But after the rain season, I'm always ready to see the sun again, and as this winter was rainier than we've been seeing in recent years, I'm especially happy to see spring creeping in.

7. Lesson Plans Are DONE

Thanks to a little extra work last weekend, this weekend I am completely free of lesson-planning. I got a Celtic animal coloring book from Amazon, so I can go forward with my plans to introduce my kids to Celtic art in honor of St. Patrick's Day.

8. Hot Chocolate

I've been very good this weekend, and resisted a very strong Dr. Pepper craving this morning. Therefore, I've earned a cup of hot chocolate tonight. :)

I love it when all the laundry is done and finally hanging on laundry racks. It truly does make for a blissful time.
